OLD MAN RUFUS HAS LAUNCHED!
The year is 2050.
Australia is largely a nuclear wasteland, after the last war decimated all but the Western state, which in comparison is a technological cyberpunk metropolis.
Killeroo is still kicking around, and he's adapted to this new way of life. It's a whole new world, and no-one is better suited to this environment than a soldier genetically engineered to thrive in these conditions.
This is Killeroo's world now.

With a whole range of amazing variant covers to choose from, and stellar artwork by underground comics veteran, Ryan Vella, you won't want to miss this book!
As I told you all last week, both the Semper Fidelis and Young Rufus Adventures books were proofed last week, and after doing through them with a fine toothcomb, I've made a few small tweaks and got them ready to be printed.
Some of these tweaks included:
Some of the covers were printing a bit too dark, so I made some small levels adjustment to make them a little brighter.
Moving some of the word balloons further away from the spine of the book, for better ease of reading. Because perfect-bound books are glued, it can be problematic if you can't open the book wide enough to read - so this should fix that.
Changing the opacity of the text for the backer credits page, to make them a bit brighter.
The Young Rufus book needed a spine added.
Now that those changes have been done, I have given the green light for the printing presses to run and get these books assembled and delivered here. I have already compiled all of your addresses into adhesive labels and have the packing materials ready to go.
Expect more updates in the coming weeks!

PROOFS HAVE ARRIVED!

I had held off sending an update earlier, because I really wanted to show you these:
These are the printer proofs, showing the covers and the interior pages on the exact stock they will be printed on. I ALWAYS get proofs first so that I can go through every page carefully, to make sure that no errors or issues have arisen in the production process.
This way, if there are issues, I can identify them now, and fix them NOW - before committing to printing the hundreds of copies that will be shipped out to you.
You'll notice that the interior pages are on separate sheets, this is because the perfect binding is a specialised service and is not something that can be done in the proofing process. This is the first time I've printed on this type of paper, and Ignacio's art really shines on it.
So after a few tweaks,, all of the books and extra goodies you have paid for will be on their way to me, and shortly after that, will be on their way to YOU!

Lastly, I'm getting ready to launch my next book in a couple of days, OLD MAN RUFUS.
This new book is drawn by Ryan Vella, and fast-forwards to the year 2050, which will reveal that Australia has become a very different place!

Hi folks,
I'm pleased to announce that SEMPER FIDELIS is about to be sent to the printers for proofing. I didn't want to send an update until I was able to say that. Matthew, Ignacio and I have been going back and forth to get the lettering and production finished and triple-checked, so that we can start getting this book (and all the Kickstarter bonus goodies) on their way to you!
(I had hoped to be at this stage a few weeks ago, but I've had some life-changing medical issues that have made for a short delay - my apologies).
Once the proofs arrive I will take some photos to show you all!
YOUNG RUFUS ADVENTURES
As mentioned before, this book is also being printed at the same time, so for those of you who also backed that campaign, these will be bundled together for you.
US BACKERS
Unfortunately there will be a delay in getting your books shipped, as USPS is currently not accepting any mail from Australia at present. But as soon as this policy is lifted, I will be getting this sorted. I will be uploading the digital PDF file in the next fortnight however, so you will still be able to read it in the short term.
PODCAST
One of the unlocked stretch goals was a bonus podcast from Matthew, Ignacio and I. We recorded this just this week, and what was originally going to be a half hour commentary track ended up being about 2.5 hours long, so I'm looking forward to sharing this with you soon. Some great insights into how it all came together.

This campaign for the next book will be launching on November 15th - by which time the majority of you will have received the previous kickstarted books in the mail. I considered postponing this until next year, but artist Ryan Vella has really been powering through the pages, and I'd really like to pay him the bulk of his page rates sooner rather than later.
There's also some pretty amazing variant covers on the way for this one, which I'm looking forward to showing you next month.
I thank you all again for your patience and support, expect to hear a lot more updates over the next couple of weeks as the fulfilment process begins!

BOOK UPDATE
Ignacio is still working through the remaining pages of the book, and has just completed page 42 (of 51). Here's another non-spoilery panel for you:
MYCELIUM COMPLEX
As I've mentioned before, one of the things I've been doing during Australia's seemingly endless lockdowns, is offering my services to help run some of my friend's kickstarter campaigns.
THE MYCELIUM COMPLEX is the latest of these, created by a fellow Melbournian comic creator, whose work you might have seen previously is THE CRUMPLETON EXPERIMENTS. This new book involves science fiction and time travel, and is now up to issue 2 - but you can easily catch up and grab issue 1 as well with this campaign.
Daniel is also an amazing artist, and has put some of the original art for the book up for sale as rewards. He'll also draw a commission of whichever character you like with his SKETCH COMBO reward. Here's a look at some of the art from the book (which is printed in full colour).
This campaign has 10 days left to go and is already 90% funded, so if you like sci-fi like Doctor Who and the Terminator, or just fantastic art by local creators - head on over to this campaign and see what you think!

My friend Daniel Reed has just launched the second issue campaign for his MYCELIUM COMPLEX comic book! He describes it as "Doctor Who meets the Terminator" - a time travel mystery with monsters!
